2026 Summer Campout - 16324 Clevenger Rd - Kearney, MO 64060

A campout is a meeting of friends at a single location. We won't have the amenities of an ARC rally; rather, it'll be just whoever shows up to enjoy the location, the fellowship and the radio activities. It's likely that a pot-luck dinner may keep us fed. Maybe we can do some tourist activities.

As it happens, this is the weekend of ARRL's Field Day. So, we can set up a ham rig and participate in field day, to the extent that we have people who want to operate for the 27-hour period. As far as i know, it will be WE4RVs first field day.  And, yes, the state park is POTA site US-1795, The historic site is US-3368.

I've just made reservations at Watkins Mill State Park and Historic Site, a Missouri State Park, from 26-29 June. Site 61 for Pam and me--three nights! Watkins Mill is an idyllic place with a lake, a historic site and a paved bike path, with the added attraction of proximity to Kansas City. Oh, and did I mention it's only 16 miles to Liberty and 36 miles to Hamilton...quilters destinations. There are many 30amp and 50amp electric only sites available and I tried to choose one that has nearby open sites for ARC hams.

When the campout is over, we can mosey along for the 94-mile trip to Sedalia and the FRVA rally...celebrating 250 Years of American Independence. I plan to leave on Monday, the 29th, for Sedalia.
